Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has backed his old club to sign Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, viewing him as a possible option.

With the Reds looking for a reliable centre-forward after the disappointment of Darwin Nunez, Carragher has suggested he is a possible option.
“There’s a young lad from Eintracht Frankfurt, Ekitike, I think he’s the type of player Liverpool would sign,” Carragher told the Called Soccer podcast.
“He’s 22, he’s at a club where you’d think they’d sell players. He did very well there – he went to Paris Saint-Germain when he was very young after showing in the French league as a youngster and it didn’t work out well.”
“But he’s so young, he’s got great stats and it looks to me like he’s the type of player Liverpool would sign rather than Isak.” I think he’s the type of player Liverpool would sign,” Carragher told the Called Soccer podcast.
